Annecy (F) has an ambitious goal to institutionalise citizen participation in the field of climate change. The pilot project in Annecy wants to test new governance and decision-making processes to contribute to the ecological, climatic and just transition fostered by the municipal council. The institutional participation will give regular input to decisions and projects around land use planning, climate and ecology topics and involves different citizens’ groups. In the long term, the new governance scheme shall allow a more effective and qualitative participation of citizens in planning strategies.
